50 Days Before 21st

I’m turning 21 in just 50 days! Wow, time flies. Part of me is thinking, “Big deal—everyone has birthdays. Why make such a fuss about it?” I guess that’s the sarcastic, cynical side of me talking. But then, someone reminded me that turning 21 is a significant milestone—it’s like the official transition from being a teenager to stepping into adulthood.

For me, reaching 21 feels like coming full circle and reflecting on everything I’ve experienced and accomplished so far. These first twenty years have felt like a lifetime, full of ups and downs, learning experiences, and growth. I’m genuinely grateful for making it through all of it.

To make this birthday more memorable and meaningful, I’ve decided to start a 50-day countdown with a twist. I’m setting myself ten challenges to complete before my birthday, something to push me out of my comfort zone and celebrate this new chapter of my life. Here’s my list:

  1. Travel Solo to a Destination Two Hours Away from Manila
It’s time to embrace independence and see the world on my own terms, even if it’s just a small adventure away from home.
  2. Complete at Least 10 Sessions of Boxing, Yoga, or Muay Thai
Physical fitness has always been a goal, and there’s no better way to test my limits than by mixing strength, flexibility, and endurance training.
  3. Become an Intermediate Spanish Speaker
Learning a new language opens up so many doors. I want to be able to hold a conversation in Spanish by the time I turn 21.
  4. Create My First Android App from Scratch
I’ve dabbled in app development before, but this time I want to build something entirely with my own coding skills.
  5. Write a Love Letter to Twenty People Who Have Impacted My Life
Gratitude is powerful. I want to take the time to express my appreciation to the people who have made a difference in my journey.
  6. Lose Twenty Pounds
This isn’t just about appearance—it’s about feeling healthier, stronger, and more confident in my own skin.
  7. Get a Six-Pack
Using the workout plan I found, I’m determined to carve out some abs. It’s a challenge, but one I’m excited to take on.
  8. Meet at Least Five New People Who Will Matter in the Next Twenty Years of My Life
As an introvert, this isn’t easy, but I want to open myself up to new connections and friendships that will stand the test of time.
  9. Write a Short Story
Creativity has always been my outlet, and writing a short story is the perfect way to channel my thoughts and experiences into something tangible.
  10. Reconnect with Friends from the First Decade of My Life
There’s something special about childhood friendships. I want to reach out and see how the people who knew me when I was young are doing now.

I’m looking forward to embracing the next twenty years of my life, filled with new challenges, growth, and adventures. Here’s to the journey ahead!
